Goodwin’s Amazing Doulas
This is a beautiful film that depicts the amazing work of the Goodwin Volunteer Doulas – a hugely successful pioneering project by the Goodwin Development Trust. The project trains volunteers to be Doulas or Birth Partners. Doulas offer one-on-one practical support from the sixth month of pregnancy; can be with you at the birth if requested; and will continue to offer support during the six weeks after the baby is born.
So far we have supported more than 300 Mums and attended more than 170 births and the Goodwin Volunteer Doulas have been awarded the All Party Parliamentary Group on Maternity’s Maternity Award in conjunction with Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
