University of Hull – Geology including volcanology
Geology at the University of Hull is a fascinating discipline. Hull is placed on the Yorkshire coast so we have fantastic resources for teaching up and down the coast. We are wonderfully situated to teach the practical heart of the subject on our doorstep, even on day trips.
Our lecturers have diverse specialisms – from volcanology to modern day processes such as rivers.
Our students also have the opportunity to travel with the course – in the past students have been to Iceland and Spain.
Career opportunities for graduates are wide-ranging; from sourcing water, gravel or oil, becoming a volcanologist, to environmental consultants and planning officers – all of these need an understanding of what is under our feet, and you can only get that with a Geology degree.
