THE FUTURE IS MEDIEVAL

The 28th of September is National Poetry Day and we have a poem from Hulls 4th best poet, Dean Wilson. Former postman of twenty years, Dean now works as a night watchman.
He writes poems that will make your sides burst with laughter one minute and have you crying into your handkerchief the next. The Future Is Medieval is a poem out of Dean’s chapbook ‘There Are Worse Things I Could Do Than Write A Poem Or Two’, which is published by Dancing Sisters.
His first full collection ‘Sometimes I’m So Happy I’m Not Safe On The Streets’ is published by Wrecking Ball Press and is sold in bookshops such as London’s Gay’s The Word. The title of the poem was adapted by the Kaiser Chiefs for their 2011 album of the same name. “It’s quite a good pairing of words, isn’t it…” quipped Nick Hodgson, who is a personal friend of Dean’s.
